Prime Minister Prachanda Inaugurates Nepal’s Sixth Cable Car in Butwal

On Thursday, Nepal’s sixth Cable car officially commenced its commercial operations. The inauguration ceremony for the lower station of the Lumbini cable car took place at Golpark Bamghat in Butwal with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda.

The Lumbini cable car was built with the investment of the IME group. Lumbini Cable car has been launched as the third project by IME Group, which has operated a Cable car at Chandragiri in Kathmandu and Maulakalika at Gaidakot in Nawalpur.

President of Lumbini Cable Car Pvt. Ltd. Chandra Prasad Dhakal said that the operation of Lumbini Cable Car has added a new religious and tourist destination to Basantpur.

Dhakal is confident that the establishment of this tourist infrastructure, linking Rupandehi and Palpa districts, will play a vital role in driving the economic and social transformation of not only Rupandehi, Palpa, Navparasi, and Kapilvastu districts but also the entire Lumbini province.

Chairman Dhakal expressed his belief that this project will serve as a significant milestone in positioning Rupandehi as the economic capital of Lumbini Province.

Furthermore, President Dhakal said that the cable car is a new campaign to build a religious tourism circuit in Nepal.
