Nepal Airlines is preparing for Kathmandu – Sydney direct flight from June 21
Nepal Airlines Corporation has prepared to connect Kathmandu – Australia by direct air flight. According to Nepal Airlines, preparations have been made to fly the aircraft to Australia after technical transit in Singapore.
As per Ganesh Kumar Ghimire, Assistant Spokesperson of the Corporation, Nepal Airlines has received a slot at Sydney Airport for the flight. After the receipt of flight permission from the airport, Nepal Airlines Corporation submitted all the necessary details to the Australian Civil Aviation Authority for approval to start the flight.
Currently, the Corporation is actively engaged in progressing with the remaining procedures. He also informed that the Corporation has proposed to conduct the first flight on June 21.
Nepal Airlines Corporation has made significant progress in various aspects of the operation, such as finalizing the General Sales Agent (GSA) selection. Additionally, the Corporation has advanced in the process of selecting a catering company to cater to the passengers’ needs.
Furthermore, the Corporation is in the process of choosing fuel providers in both Singapore and Sydney. In addition, the Corporation has successfully selected Maintenance, Repair, and Operation (MRO) services for Singapore and Sydney airports.
The Corporation is now flying relatively long distances to Japan and Saudi Arabia. The Australia flight will also provide convenience to tourists traveling between these two countries along with a large number of Nepalis.
Among the four aircraft in international flight, the Corporation has prepared to fly widebody A-330 aircraft in Kathmandu – Sydney route.
An air service agreement was signed between Nepal and Australia four years ago. However, the commercial flight could not take place. The Corporation has already chartered flights here during the Covid-19.
